Let's have a chat
On Thursday, 28 November 2024, an open educational seminar for all interested parties will be held by the Association of Icelandic Municipalities, the Ministry of Education and Children's Affairs, and Home-School Partnership on protective factors in the lives of children and young people, social media and home-school partnership. The meeting will be chaired by Margrét Gauja Magnúsdóttir, a specialist at the Ministry of Education and Children's Affairs. The meeting will be streamed between 13:00 and 14:00 on Thursday, 28 November.

At the end of the meeting, there will be a discussion where participants can submit questions via slido.com: #tokumsamtalið. All the presentations aim to give parents and guardians insight and tools to counteract the negative social influences that confront children and young people in their lives.
Three lectures will be held:
- Social media and what to avoid on it – Kári Sigurðsson, project manager at Reykjavík City
- Parents' Partnership Against Violence – Sigurður Sigurðsson, Executive Director of Home and School
- The Well-being and Social Relationships of Children and Adolescents: The Role of Parents – Sigrún Daníelsdóttir, specialist at the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, presents the latest research on protective factors in the lives of children and young people.
