Presentation of the focus and scope of changes to the local plan

A public consultation is being held regarding a change to the Hleinir to Langeyrarmólar local plan. The change provides for a revised development of the area to improve residents' quality of life, increase the number of homes, and provide more residential options for the elderly. It essentially involves the addition of a new wing to the care home and three blocks of flats, along with a connecting building. Changes will include the size of the plot, the building mass, the plot ratio, the layout of Naustahleinar street, and the location of the substation.

Wednesday, 12 February at Hrafnista

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, 12 February at 16:00 in the cultural hall of Hrafnista in Hafnarfjörður, Hraunvangi 7, where the planners will present the key aspects and scope of the detailed plan. The Hleinar to Langeyrarmólar detailed plan is a joint project between Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær.

The zoning plan is a joint project between Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær.

At its meeting on 15 January 2025, the Hafnarfjörður Town Council resolved to advertise a proposal for an amendment to the detailed plan for Hleinir to Langeyrarmólar, in accordance with section 1 of article 43 of the Planning Act.  The Garðabær Municipal Council's resolution to advertise the amendment was passed at their meeting on 5 December 2024. During the consultation period from 31 January to 17 March 2025, the proposal can be accessed at website of the planning portal.  Comments and/or suggestions should be submitted electronically via the Planning Portal.
