Hafnarborg invites primary school children in Hafnarfjörður to come and take part in creative art workshops run by the museum during the winter holidays on 24 and 25 February. The workshops are open to all children and their families who want to let their creativity flow and enjoy working with a variety of materials to create sculptures. Each workshop will have its own theme, so you are welcome to take part on one or both days.

Multilingual Sculpture Workshop with Lukas Bury and Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir
Monday 24 February, 1 pm - 3 pm
The artists Lukas Bury and Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir lead a family-friendly art workshop in Icelandic, Polish and English. Children and adults will have the opportunity to create colourful and fun artworks from a variety of materials. In addition, participants will be inspired by the museum's exhibitions and learn how to use ideas from artworks in their own creations.

Sculpture workshop with Anna Hrund Másdóttir
Tuesday, 25 February, 1 pm - 3 pm

Artist Anna Hrund Másdóttir leads an art workshop where the emphasis is on enjoying the moment and letting creative thinking flow. Participants work with found materials and are encouraged to create playful, light sculptures. All materials will be provided, so participants only need to bring an open mind and a creative spirit. Anna Hrund is also one of the participants in the exhibition. Pause, which is currently on display at Hafnarborg.

The workshops take place in the Pharmacy on the first floor of the museum, and children are advised to be accompanied by an adult. As usual, participation in the art workshops is free of charge for visitors, as is admission to the museum's exhibitions. You are very welcome.
