Artist Michelle Bird celebrates a decade in Iceland with her series: „The Horse, The Girl, and the Highlands“.“
Michelle Bird celebrates the 10-year anniversary of her life in Iceland with paintings and drawings that capture the essence of Iceland. This series, titled „The Horse, the Girl and the Highlands“, weaves together three recurring elements like a rhyme: the spiritual horse, the independent woman, and the untamed wilderness. These motifs, which appear in most of her works, are like a mystical trinity and evoke the raw, overwhelming beauty of Iceland.
The artist Michelle Bird has been painting for more than 40 years and has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Europe and the United States. She has received grants and awards in Iceland from SSV and List Fyrir Alla. Most recently, one of her works has been selected for the Lunar Codex art collection on the moon.
