Selection of traders for participation in the Christmas Village: The Christmas Village Project Management bases its selection of traders on the following criteria, as listed below:
- Product categories
- Product availability on offer in the sales area
- Information about the applicant's activities
- Along with special circumstances that may arise
With regard to sales, sellers must comply with any applicable laws and regulations. If a product or product category is in any way conditional or subject to the granting of a licence, the seller must make themselves aware of this and obtain the relevant licence. This applies, for example, to the sale of food, beverages, alcoholic drinks and other products that may be subject to regulation. Sellers are also encouraged to find out whether and what insurance may be appropriate, where applicable.
The location of the Christmas houses is regularly reviewed, and the placement of individual vendors is adjusted accordingly to best suit this purpose. The project management's primary objective is for the Christmas Village to be as successful as possible, and this is the guiding principle for all its operations and activities.
Included in the rent ...covers all costs for the installation and operation of the house and the cleaning of the area. In addition, the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður will be responsible for attracting visitors and promoting the Christmas Village in various ways.
