Come and enjoy with us!

The Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður will be opened with a festive programme on Thorsplani on Friday, 14 November, when the lights will be switched on on the Cuxhaven Christmas tree. The German Ambassador, the Mayor of Hafnarfjörður and the chairman of the Hafnarfjörður-Cuxhaven twinning association will light the tree's lights. The Christmas tree is a gift from Cuxhaven, Hafnarfjörður's German twin town for 37 years. It will illuminate the Christmas Village in its new location in December.

You'll find the Christmas spirit with us.

The Christmas Town and Christmas Village are bustling with life and fun in the run-up to Christmas. The beautifully decorated Christmas houses in Hafnarfjörður on Thorsplani have long been nationally renowned for a variety of exciting gifts, gourmet treats, crafts and design.

It's the perfect opportunity to find the ideal Christmas present in the Christmas Village, whilst enjoying delicious food to warm you from the inside out. The Christmas elves visit every weekend, and Grýla will be roaming the town on Sundays.

Strandgata, from Lækjargata to Linnetstíg, becomes a pedestrianised street while the Christmas Village is open. This is to spread pedestrian traffic throughout the city centre and ensure the safety of all our valued visitors.
