Friday 6th February, 6pm-10pm We invite guests to celebrate Museum Night Join us at Hafnarborg for a programme of events related to art, nature and wellbeing. There will also be two evening events at the museum, where visitors can watch art being created and enjoy a relaxing sound experience, as well as visit the museum's current exhibitions. Below you can find more information about Hafnarborg's programme for Museum Night:

18:00-19:00
Flowers are being made – watch the flower-making.

As part of Eggert Pétursson's current exhibition at the museum, Doaa from Palestinian Flowers will create flowers from crepe paper in the space. The flower-making is based on a sensitivity to colour and form, much like Eggert's works, where the smallest plants become a grand landscape on the picture plane. Visitors are invited to observe the process as handmade paper flowers take shape within the exhibition, engaging with the surrounding works.

19:00-20:00
Tónflóð – sound healing with Vala Gestsdóttir
Vala Gestsdóttir, composer, violist and yoga teacher, leads a deeply relaxing session in a site-specific installation by Una Björg Magnúsdóttir. With soothing tones, guests are invited on a journey that moves the body's energy flow, supporting balance, presence and inner stillness through the healing power of music. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and to bring a mat, cushion, blanket and perhaps an eye mask.

On Museum Night, most museums in the capital region open their doors late into the evening and offer visitors a variety of exhibitions and events. Hafnarfjörður's cultural institutions – the Library, the Folk Museum and Hafnarborg – also welcome visitors as usual with a varied and lively programme. Entry to all the museums and all events is free for the evening.
