A course for creative children at the Innovation Centre
Creative children aged 9–12 now have the opportunity to take part in a pilot project at the Innovation Centre by the Stream. The course starts on 25 September and is taught once a week.
New pilot project at the Innovation Centre
Creative children aged 9–12 now have the opportunity to take part in a pilot project at the Innovation Centre by the Stream. They will learn to use their sketchbooks as a playground for imagination, experimentation and discovery in a new course starting on Thursday, 25 September 2025. .
An opportunity to learn and make mistakes
Participants are guided through a variety of exercises where they will work with different media and methods in creative thinking. The course will also emphasise creating a safe space where children can experiment, make mistakes, discover new ways and enjoy playing with ideas.
The course runs until 5th or 12th December (depending on the group and schedule). Classes take place on Thursdays from 16:00–18:00 at the Innovation Centre by the Stream in Hafnarfjörður. The course fee is 18,000 krónur. All materials, including a sketchbook, are included in the price.
Good for promoting independent and creative expression
The teachers are Fannar Már Skarphéðinsson and Linn Janssen, both experienced artists and instructors with a passionate interest in creative work with children.
The course is suitable for all children who are interested in art, idea development, and wish to enhance their independent and creative expression through pictures and sketches.
