A delegation from Greenland on a visit
An eleven-member delegation from Ilulissat, Hafnarfjörður's twin town in Greenland, visited Hafnarfjörður last week. In Ilulissat, an international airport is being prepared for opening in 2024, and a significant increase in tourists is therefore expected. The purpose of the visit to Iceland was, among other things, to hear about the challenges faced by the country in developing Keflavik International Airport and how they were addressed. It was also considered an ideal opportunity to visit the sister city of Hafnarfjörður and strengthen their ties.
