Hafnarfjörður municipality and Marketing Agency of Hafnarfjörður signed an agreement on recent days for cooperation in the fields of employment, tourism and marketing. One of the roles of the Marketing Bureau of Hafnarfjörður is to promote business development and to work on tourism and marketing matters in Hafnarfjörður in close cooperation with the business community, the local council and others who wish to contribute to the town's development.
The Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður will, in its projects, place a strong emphasis on strengthening the existing business community through robust information provision and promotion, attract new businesses and institutions to the town, increase its visibility and improve Hafnarfjörður's competitive position, as well as enhance the standing of tourism in the region. The Marketing Bureau, with newly appointed CEO Ása Sigríður Þórisdóttir at the helm, will work steadily to promote increased cooperation and collaboration between businesses in Hafnarfjörður, both in terms of location and operations, thereby contributing to growth in retail and services. At the same time, an emphasis will be placed on promoting Hafnarfjörður as an ideal location for new businesses or for companies from across the country that are looking for a new site for their operations.
