MAN in Iceland gets premises in Hafnarfjörður
The company Kraftur has secured a plot of land at Álhellu 9 and has begun construction. „We are expanding significantly with the move and are looking to increase our staff from 25 to 40,“ said Kristinn Þór Geirsson, managing director of Kraftur, which holds the agency for MAN in Iceland.
Kraft moves to Hafnarfjörður
Kraftur, the agent for MAN in Iceland and Palfinger cranes, plans to move its operations to Hafnarfjörður. Construction work has begun on the company's site at Álhellu 9. The company has signed a declaration of cooperation to strengthen its partnership with the town.
Kraft opens at a new location in the new year – which is also the company's 60th anniversary year. The move to Hafnarfjörður includes the company's head office and its operations.
Mayor Valdimar Víðisson welcomes the company moving its operations to the town. „We in Hafnarfjörður are delighted that a company like Kraftur chooses to move its operations here. This will create diverse employment opportunities, increase value creation and strengthen the town's business life.“
Common goals
- To facilitate the successful transfer, integration and development of the operation in the municipality.
- Create positive conditions for further job creation in the surrounding areas.
- Ensure a tidy and high-quality environment in connection with the company's operations.
- To build mutual trust and cooperation for the future.
Kristinn Þór Geirsson, managing director of Kraft, says the aim is to begin operations at Álhellu 9 in September next year. The site has been under consideration for some time. „We need a spacious plot with a good outdoor and operational area, and we are now settling in a rapidly growing business and industrial area,“ he says.
„We're expanding significantly with the move and are looking to increase our staff from 25 to 40. We're excited about the future as there are major milestones ahead.“ Kraft's new premises will be 2,600 square metres; a combination of a workshop, warehouse, showroom and staff facilities.
