The formal partnership between the City of Hafnarfjörður and Hljóma began as a pilot project a year ago, and a decision to continue for another year has been made in light of the project's success and positive reception.

This week, a partnership agreement was signed with Hljómu music therapy renewed and signed in the splendid premises of Hljóma at 38 Austurgata. The formal partnership between the City of Hafnarfjörður and Hljóma began as a pilot project a year ago, and a decision has been made to continue for another year in light of the project's satisfaction and success. Hljóma provides music therapy for children and young people facing a variety of challenges, giving them the opportunity to access and enjoy music on their own terms. The youngest pupil is 2 years old and the oldest is 18.

Hljóma, under the direction of Inga Björk Ingadóttir, provides music therapy for children and young people with various challenges, such as disabilities, mental and emotional health issues, trauma, and social difficulties. Hljóma is based in the heart of Hafnarfjörður, where Inga Björk has created a beautiful and creative space for music therapy and music tuition. Over the years, Inga has collected a wide range of musical instruments, both traditional ones and a diverse collection of custom-made instruments tailored to the needs of individuals with various challenges.
