A new head teacher for Engidal School has been appointed.
Margrét Halldórsdóttir has been appointed as headteacher of Engidalsskóli in Hafnarfjörður. She will take over the management of the school from 1 August, but will be involved this spring in planning the school's activities for the next academic year.

Margrét has a Master's degree in Leadership and Management from the University of Bifröst, a Diploma in Public Administration and a B.Ed from the University of Iceland. This spring, she will complete her M.Ed in Leisure and Social Welfare Studies from the University of Iceland. Margrét has extensive teaching experience and has been involved in education from various perspectives, including serving as Director of the School and Leisure Services Department for the Municipality of Ísafjörður, and prior to that as Sports and Leisure Officer for the same municipality. There, she has led the implementation of the Health Promoting School Programme, the introduction of information technology in primary schools, and initiatives in Icelandic and mathematics, as well as strategic work on education, sports and prevention matters.
