Electronic information dissemination

With Granna – town web viewer You can access a variety of data, such as drawings of houses and plots in the town, detailed plans, neighbourhood boundaries, school catchment areas, and heritage and protected areas. Information can also be found on certain basic municipal services, such as the locations of schools, institutions, playgrounds, swimming pools and kerbside recycling bins. It is also possible to view the layout of the water, heating and sewerage supply, along with the pipe routes. Furthermore, plans from the building control officer are uploaded to the web map as soon as they are approved, making them quickly and easily accessible.

„This is a welcome step in our digital journey. We are nowhere near finished and will continue to develop and shape Granna in close collaboration with EFLU and users. We have already taken a lot of information that was previously in PDF documents on our website and made it more dynamic in the new web viewer. The aim for the future is for Granni to become a real-time source, and for all necessary drawings and key information to be hosted in the municipal web viewer.“ says Sigurjón Ólafsson, Director of the Service and Development Department and one of those who has sat on the project's working group.
