A new housing solution for people with multiple needs

The first sod has been cut for a new residential facility for seven individuals with complex needs. The residential unit will be located at Hólalandi on Kjalarnes. An environment and conditions will be created where the individual can be supported to work at their own pace, with a focus on their strengths, potential, interests and future.

A new resource is an important addition  

The aim is to build a home for seven people.
who have multiple difficulties, often with learning disabilities, behavioural and
drug addiction, autism and related disorders that have difficulty with
to find their feet in society. There is a great need for residential solutions for this group and
There are waiting lists in local authorities for housing for people who have a need for
specialised support. This is therefore an important addition to the resources that
are now available. The municipalities of Hafnarfjörður, Mosfellsbær and the City of Reykjavík have each entered into an agreement with the non-profit organisation EMBLU regarding prospective residency. Andrastaðir hses will build the core and will house the apartments.
Allocated in cooperation with the three municipalities.
