New skatepark in Hafnarfjörður in the new year
The City of Hafnarfjörður has leased Selhellan 7 in Hafnarfjörður. The premises are intended as a new skate park in Hafnarfjörður and will, among other things, host snowboarding and skateboarding training and competitions, as well as BMX riding.jThe junior division of the Hafnarfjörður Chess Club.
Hafnarfjörður Ski Club is moving to Selhælla 7.
The City of Hafnarfjörður has leased Selhellu 7 in Hafnarfjörður, which will be partly used for Hafnarfjörður Ski Club. The facility is intended as a new skate park in Hafnarfjörður and will, among other things, host snowboarding and skateboarding training and competitions, as well as BMX riding.jThe youth section of the Hafnarfjörður Chess Club. The Chess Club, which for years has been based at Flatahrauni 14, will have an area of around 800 square metres for its activities in a large and splendid hall at a new location.
Sdateto the importation in early in the new year
This is a new and magnificent facility that will be used for the most part by the Hafnarfjörður Surfing Club. The Town Council approved the lease at its meeting on 30 November, and Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir, Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, and Bjarni Gunnarsson, owner of Icetransport and chairman of Vesturkantur ehf, which owns Selhæll 7, a ten-year lease. Preparatory work on the design and construction of the new facility has begun, and it is hoped that the new premises will be ready for the Skateboard Club to move in early in the new year. The move to new premises will mark a milestone and a revolution in facilities for the Hafnarfjörður Boarding Club and other residents who practise these sports. The Mayor and Heads of Service of the City of Hafnarfjörður were, alongside the decision to lease, tasked with continuing to work on the arrangement of the space in the premises that will not be used by the Boarding Club.
