BRÚIN – an outstanding collaborative project

In early December 2019, BRÚIN (a new procedure for the provision of services to children in the municipality's nursery and primary schools) in the City of Hafnarfjörður received a European award from the European Association of Social Workers, European Social
Network, for outstanding collaborative projects in the field of school and
family services.

BRÚIN is a targeted approach to school and family services
of the town that integrates services in the local environment for children and their families.
Emphasis is placed on providing increased services at earlier stages with involvement
Interdisciplinary Bridge Teams in the schools. This focus aligns well with the intended
changes and the authorities' policy-making in matters concerning children. The procedure has been
implemented in stages in collaboration with the town's nursery and primary schools, and the development will
and the implementation will continue for the coming years. This is not a temporary project.
