Children from lower-income households, born between 2005 and 2014, can receive a special sports and leisure grant of 45,000 krónur. The project aims to level the playing field for lower-income families to participate in organised sports and leisure activities. The application deadline is 31 July 2021, but you can claim reimbursement for a wide range of activities from September 2020.
The aim of the leisure grants is to enable children to take part in sports and leisure activities regardless of their family's financial situation, and to support sports and other preventative activities. The grant is also intended to counteract the undesirable dropout rate in older age groups of participants.
