On Friday, 6th March, day-care providers in Hafnarfjörður held a working day. The day was fully booked and started at 08:30 with the annual general meeting. Aðalheiður Runólfsdóttir was elected chair, with Sigríður Júlíusdóttir as vice-chair. The other board members elected were Eyrún Gísladóttir as treasurer, and Þóra Jónína Hjálmarsdóttir and Steinþóra Þorsteinsdóttir as board members.
After the general meeting, day-care providers attended an educational seminar hosted by the City of Hafnarfjörður on the city's literacy policy and the importance of early intervention, which was presented by the speech and language therapists Ásthildur Bj. Snorradóttir and Bjartey Sigurðardóttir.
In the afternoon, the childminders attended a training session on fire safety, also hosted by the City of Hafnarfjörður, and afterwards took part in practical training with the fire brigade under the expert guidance of Jón Pétursson, a specialist from the Capital Region Fire and Rescue Service.
