Empower our young people – a partnership with Dale Carnegie

The City of Hafnarfjörður has entered into an agreement with the company Dale Carnegie for courses for 13-15-year-olds in Hafnarfjörður. The agreement provides a discount of kr. 30,000 on the course fee, and the leisure allowance can also be used towards payment. 

Is your child ready for autumn?

Dale Carnegie offers, among other things, courses for young people who want to improve their leadership skills. The course here in Hafnarfjörður starts on 1 October, lasts for eight weeks, and the group meets once a week. The course fee is 109,000 kr., but 79,000 kr. for children from Hafnarfjörður. 25,000 kr. if the leisure allowance is fully used towards payment of the course. 

Let's harness the power of our young people!

There is power in young people. An energy that needs to be harnessed and channelled in the right direction. In this course Dale Carnegie Students, with the help of specialists, lay the foundations for their own strategy for the future. The young people train themselves to view challenges as opportunities and to improve their skills and attitudes.  Participants on the course step outside their comfort zone, challenge themselves and thereby strengthen their self-identity. They experience positive emotions and achieve victories, thereby boosting their self-confidence, which helps them become more effective leaders in their own environment and lives. They learn methods for strengthening relationships and teamwork skills in real-life situations. The online world can be fun, but no one gets through life well without communicating face-to-face with others. Techniques for increasing positivity and joy. The young people practise speaking in front of a group and become better at expressing themselves. They learn how praise and encouragement can have a positive effect on both themselves and others.
