Hafnarfjörður has introduced a new initiative offering temporary cover positions. This could be a particularly suitable option if you are looking for work experience, a side job, part-time work, or temporary work.
It is possible to register on an open list for all jobs or in a specific field (nurseries, primary schools, music school and disability services) and to adapt your working hours and schedule to your studies or daily commitments.
The locum positions are not advertised specifically, but are instead a pool of candidates from which managers and/or the HR department can draw. These are roles that are not intended to last for more than 12 consecutive months.
Applications for cover positions do not apply to the processing of positions that are advertised specifically. All applicants for cover positions are therefore encouraged to keep a close eye on all advertised vacancies on the council's website and to apply specifically if a particular post interests them. An application for a cover position is valid for six months.
