All staff of the primary schools received incentive awards.
The 2020 Hafnarfjörður Parents' Council Encouragement Awards were presented at twelve locations this morning. The awards were received by teachers and staff of Hafnarfjörður's primary schools, in addition to the Education and Public Health Department of the City of Hafnarfjörður also receiving an award for its excellent work during the pandemic.

The awards were received by teachers and staff of Hafnarfjörður's primary schools, as well as the Education and Public Health Department of the City of Hafnarfjörður, which also received an award for its excellent work during the pandemic. Due to social distancing restrictions, the ceremony was held in a slightly modified format.
Great joy and gratitude for the recognition
The primary schools in Hafnarfjörður are Hjallastefnunnar Primary School, Víðistaðaskóli, Engidalsskóli, NÚ, Lækjarskóli, Setbergsskóli, Öldutúnsskóli, Áslandsskóli, Hraunvallaskóli, Skarðshlíðarskóli, and Hvaleyrarskóli. The awards were presented by Stefán Már Gunnlaugsson, Vala Steinsdóttir and Kristín Ólöf Grétarsdóttir, representatives of the parents' council. There was great joy in the school canteens, and everyone was grateful for the cakes, the awards and the visit.
Usually, these awards are presented at this time for the current year, but due to Covid-19, the awards for 2020 were presented now, and so the Encouragement Awards for 2021 will be presented next April.
