News

Baker Gulli Arnar has been running his eponymous artisan bakery at Flatahraun 31 for almost two years. Gulli is a very dynamic and ambitious young man who has brought a fresh approach to the range of bakeries in Hafnarfjörður, including many innovations that had not previously been available in the town. At the artisan bakery, great care is taken to prevent food waste, and the policy and aim of the business is to sell out of all products daily and to produce new, fresh ones the next day.

An expansion that opens up even greater opportunities, better service and choice.

Last February, the bakery expanded within the same premises, enabling Gulla to offer an even better service and selection. He produces high-quality products from scratch using first-class ingredients, emphasising quality over quantity. Production takes place in an open, bright kitchen with large windows, where the public can watch. During his studies, Gulli won the annual pastry chef competition twice, and was also the first to win the competition two years in a row. Upon graduation, he was awarded by the school for outstanding achievement in his practical training and his master's examination. Gulli trained in cake making at the historic Konditori La Glace in Copenhagen. Last spring, Gulli received an award from the Marketing Office of Hafnarfjörður for his work in promoting business and the town's atmosphere in Hafnarfjörður. He is one of the vendors who staffed the beautiful Christmas house every weekend in the Christmas Village this year.
