The artists and friends, Annalísa Hermannsdóttir and Katrín Helga Ólafsdóttir, are working on creating three different music videos which will be released at the end of the summer. The friends are working on them as part of a creative summer jobs scheme in Hafnarfjörður.

A lot of emphasis on the visual content

One of the music videos Katrín is working on most these days is an animated video for the dreamy rock band Milkhouse, of which she is a member. Annalísa, who has recently graduated from the LHÍ's screenwriting course, is making her own music video as the musician Annalísa, with Katrín's help. They have been working on the video together in an old industrial building that they have renovated and painted white from floor to ceiling. They will then both work on a music video for K.óla, Katrín's artist name, which will be filmed all over Hafnarfjörður.

128 hand-drawn individual images

The process of making a music video is varied. Katrín, who is working on a video for the song 'Snorkstelpan' by Milkhouse, is hand-drawing around 128 individual images, which will then be coloured in a computer. By combining all the individual images, the final result will show a beautiful story about a little girl who is being looked after by her grandfather. The video is intended to interpret everyday life and how younger and older generations learn from one another.

The creative process Katrín has to go through to make the video includes, among other things, creating a visual overview of the storyline, drawing the base images, going through the base images three times, scanning them in, colouring them on the computer, putting the images together and animating them, editing the story together and finally releasing the video.

Creative summer jobs are part of the Hafnarfjörður Summer Job Scheme – nine projects for summer 2021.

Creative summer jobs with the City of Hafnarfjörður are part of the summer programme for the Hafnarfjörður Work School. Creative summer jobs are advertised separately, and individuals and groups are invited to submit ideas for creative projects with their application. These projects are designed to bring even more life to the town over the summer, making it more fun, beautiful and diverse through artistic and creative events. Particular consideration will be given to the diversity of projects and their appeal to different age groups and interests.
