Application deadline is 4 May – plots in Hamranes
Six plots of land in Hamranes, Hafnarfjörður, intended for legal entities, are available for allocation. Applications must be submitted by 12 noon on Monday, 4 May 2020. Applications are submitted online via My Pages.
On Meeting of the Hafnarfjörður Town Council, 8 April 2020 It was approved to advertise six plots for allocation for the construction of a three- to five-storey block of flats with 148 apartments in Hamranes, a new residential area south of Ásvallabraut which connects the area to major main roads and is also a short distance from a bus stop. The area is currently undeveloped, but it will see the construction of a dense development with affordable housing that adapts to the local landscape.
The plots are available for allocation to legal entities and can be viewed and applied for online at „My pages“on the Hafnarfjörður website. If two or more applications for the same plot are received, a draw will be held. Applications must be received by 12:00 on Monday, 4 May 2020. It is anticipated that applications will be considered at the meeting of the Municipal Council on 7 May 2020.
The following blocks of flats plots are on Plot 6, 10 and 11 in Phase 1 in Hamranes:
- Ringhamar 1, 24 flats, 1 house
- Hringhamar 3, 25 flats, 2 houses
- Ringhamar 7, 28 flats, 1 house
- Noon Hammer 2, 24 flats 1 house
- Nónhamar 4, 27 flats, 2 houses
- Noon Hammer 8, 20 flats 1 house
All facilities will be exemplary in the neighbourhood, which is situated on one of the most beautiful and family-friendly building plots in the capital region, south of Velli and the Skarðshlíðar neighbourhood. The plots are in a school catchment area. Skarðshlíð School which is about 400 m north of the development area, to which it is connected by footpaths and underpasses beneath Ásvallabraut A nursery and primary school are already operational, and a sports hall and a branch of the music school will be handed over this autumn. A new nursery school is planned for a nearby site.
Plots are available for allocation to legal entities.
- A legal entity applying for a plot of land must submit the previous year's annual accounts, certified by a qualified auditor, as well as an unconditional written confirmation from a bank or lending institution regarding their solvency and potential lending for the proposed house construction. Furthermore, the applicant shall provide evidence of a spotless building history.
Assessment of applications from legal entities – the following factors are taken into account when assessing applications:
- information about the applicant's financial situation
- that the applicant's building history does not contain significant breaches of building regulations
- Quality system for building supervisors and tradesmen
