Applications to the Sóley Foundation – deadline extension
The Association of Local Authorities in the Capital Region (SSH) is inviting applications for grants from the Sóley fund for innovative and collaborative projects in the fields of environment and transport, and welfare and society. The application deadline has been extended to Monday, 3rd October.

Projects are among the priority projects in the Regional Development Plan for the Capital Region.
The above-mentioned projects are among the priority projects in Strategy for the Capital Region 2020-2024, the aim of the grants is to encourage the participation of the business community in such projects and to support projects that connect the business community and municipalities in the capital region, and to strengthen their cooperation. In light of this, grants will only be awarded to legal entities, not to individuals. The funds available for allocation from the fund for each sector are kr. 5.0 million. The maximum grant per application is kr. 1.0 million. The fund's rules of procedure and application form are available at SSH website.
The application must also be accompanied by an 8-12 slide presentation which includes:
- Rationale that the project is an innovative project in the field of environmental and transport matters or welfare and society, and aligns with the above-mentioned objectives.
- A detailed description of the project, as well as the work and schedule.
- Budget (expenditure and revenue plan), as well as information on other financing
- Justification that the applicant has the professional and financial capacity to implement the project.
If an application does not comply with the above, it will not be considered on its merits.
2021 Grant Recipients: Björn Jónsson from Markaðsstofa Kópavogs, Steinunn Guðbjörnsdóttir from Exploring Iceland, Eva María Þórarinsdóttir Lange from Pink Iceland and Þór Sigurðsson from Expluria.
The deadline for applications for grants from the fund for 2022 is 3 October!
A decision on the allocation will be made no later than 20 November 2022.
The allocation committee reserves the right to recommend that all applications be rejected.
