Area within the Vallahverfi area for a new main pipeline
Major and detailed planning amendment
In accordance with the 2nd paragraph of Article 36 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010, a description of the amendments to the Master Plan and Detailed Plan, which concern part of the Vallahverfi area for a new main pipeline, is published for public consultation.
The 2013-2025 Master Plan for Hafnarfjörður does not provide for this main pipeline, and therefore a change to the Master Plan must be made in parallel with an amendment to the detailed plan for the area. The pipeline will largely run alongside existing footpaths and roads, except where it crosses over conservation areas designated as Hva9 and Hva8.

Public meeting on 22 August at 5 p.m. at Norðurhilla 2
A public meeting will be held at Norðurhilla 2 on 22 August from 17:00 to 18:30. The meeting will cover the proposed route of the pipeline through the neighbourhood and the project's timeline. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the proposed changes to the layout, along with the works scheduled to begin in 2020.
