Angled panelling at Áslandsskóli
Recently, two new play panels were installed at Áslandsskóli to the great delight and satisfaction of the children, young people and parents in the neighbourhood. The idea to purchase and install the pitches came from the Ásland School community, and the project was initiated and followed through by the school's Parent-Teacher Association and its board.

Popular fields among children and young people
Pannavellir are small, octagonal football pitches where fast and fun games can be played, suitable for all age groups and allowing everyone to take part. The pitches have been a huge success across the country, are considered exceptionally fun to use, and the games played on them often create a great deal of life and excitement. The school community at Áslandssskóli is very active, and the Áslandssskóli Parents' Association deserves credit for taking the initiative to install the pann courts. The second court was funded entirely by the parents' association itself, with a generous grant from local businesses, while the other is sponsored by the City of Hafnarfjörður. The courts have already proven their worth and have further enhanced the vibrancy of the neighbourhood.
