Autumn in Hafnarfjörður has been exceptionally beautiful and the weather rather mild. Autumn cleaning and sweeping has been underway for the past few days and will continue throughout next week. During the autumn sweep, all the town's streets are checked, swept, and a concerted effort is made to clear up the mass of leaves that have fallen in recent days and weeks, along with general street sweeping.
First, the town's suburbs are swept – then the town centre.
Autumn sweeping in Hafnarfjörður is divided into fourteen districts. The outlying districts of Hafnarfjörður are swept first, finishing in the town centre. The town centre will be swept weekly on Sunday mornings until winter.
