Here are the reviews of the award recipients:
VON Mathús: Wears the name with pride
„VON certainly lives up to its name, as great expectations were placed on the venture that moved into the old industrial buildings which had stood empty on Strandgatan for years. VON Restaurant has firmly established itself within the diverse range of eateries found in Hafnarfjörður and has been a driving force in the use of seasonal Icelandic cuisine and raw materials, making a noticeable impact. VON has thus both managed to influence the town's character and put the town firmly on the map as a destination for foodies.“
Fjarðarkaup: Loyalty and customer care
„Fjarðarkaup places great emphasis on good service and a wide product range, as the store defines itself as a service store. Since opening, Fjarðarkaup has managed to become a significant competitor in the Icelandic food market, primarily by appealing to the values originally established: service and product selection. In Iceland, there are very few grocery stores that have managed to develop and shape their own unique identity and culture, to which customers feel a special bond of loyalty.“
St. Jó's Quality of Life Centre: Pioneering work and enthusiasm
„It was clear that the activities would have to be carefully planned to suit this prestigious building and the renovations undertaken. The building now hosts a diverse and vibrant range of health and creative activities, in line with the City of Hafnarfjörður's health strategy. The Quality of Life Centre is a community offering prevention, healthcare, early intervention, education and a creative hub. All operators have one thing in common: they enhance people's quality of life in one way or another.“
Thorgeir Haraldsson: The interests of the collective are the most important.
„Thorgeir Haraldsson has been the chairman of the Haukar handball section for many years and has played a major part in the success Haukar have enjoyed over the last two decades. He has served on the board of the Icelandic Handball Association (HSÍ) and has also undertaken countless projects for the wider handball movement. Thorgeir has shown, both in word and deed, that the interests of the collective are paramount when success is to be achieved, and he is unquestionably a mainstay of Icelandic handball.“
Hafnarfjörður warmly congratulates the award recipients!
