The Town Council awards annual grants for activities and services that align with the role of the local authority. The deadline for applications is 1 April 2016. It is anticipated that the allocation will be finalised by 1 May 2016.

Each year, the Town Council awards grants to organisations, businesses or individuals for activities and services that align with the role of the local authority or are otherwise in accordance with its strategic objectives, priorities and priorities. Grants are awarded twice a year, and the first award of the year is now taking place. The deadline for applications is 1 April 2016. 

Applicants must have a connection to Hafnarfjörður in some way. For example, through permanent residence, by the event or project being held in Hafnarfjörður, and/or by including promotion of something related to the municipality. Organisations, businesses, associations and individuals can only apply once a year, and events or projects are not retroactively funded.

Applications must be made through My pages: Grant application – Town Council grant. In addition to general information, the following must be included in the application:

  • Objectives, description and justification of the application
  • Grant amount
  • Time and Work Schedule
  • Further funding
  • Cost estimate
