Best decorated houses in Hafnarfjörður 2019
On St. Lucia's Day, prizes were awarded for the best-decorated houses and the best-decorated street in Hafnarfjörður. At the beginning of December, residents of Hafnarfjörður and other interested parties were encouraged to put on their big Christmas glasses and send in a tip about the house in Hafnarfjörður that they think stands out in this year's Christmas decorations.

Furuvellir 13-25 is the best-decorated street for the second time and receives the much-lauded Christmas shield. The street is exceptionally Christmassy and beautiful, and the residents' community spirit is clearly strong as everyone takes part in decorating.
5 Hlíðarbraut Received recognition for a beautiful and tasteful decoration on a neat house in a green neighbourhood.
34 Hellisgata was recognised for the second time and it's fair to say that the owners of that house fill the street with true Christmas cheer, as almost everything that can be decorated is, and even the car, which is in the driveway, has been decorated.
Brattakinn 17 received an award for a beautiful display in the Kinns, where the Christmas lights illuminate it beautifully and the Santas in the garden add a magical touch.
Svalbarð 2 Awarded for a lively and refreshing decoration on the corner of Svalbarður and Móabarður, which warmly welcomes passers-by. Great ambition in the decorations and a wide selection of string lights. Residents of Svalbarður 2 received a gift voucher from HS Veitur.
9 South Street received an award for creativity in decoration. The garden is exceptionally beautifully decorated and brightens up both the street and the area for pedestrians, as it's a real pleasure to peek into and see how tastefully it has been decorated. Many local residents have been invited to enjoy and experience it, and it is clear that the residents take great pleasure in making their surroundings beautiful.
The presentation of awards and recognition took place in the Christmas Village on St. Lucia's Day, and the selection was made by the Culture and Tourism Committee of the City of Hafnarfjörður.
