The Öldutúnsskóli Choir is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary with a concert at Víðistaðakirkja. Friday, 1st May at 5 p.m..

The choir is the oldest children's choir in the country to have been in continuous operation. The programme consists of songs that have been on the choir's repertoire over the years. A new piece of music, Cancta Caecilia, by Bára Gísladóttir, will be premiered.

Many former choir members are performing, both as a choir and as soloists. Those singing with us on this occasion are: Margrét Eir, Hanna Björk Guðjónsdóttir, Örn Arnarson and Fjóla Kristín Nikulásdóttir. The original choir members will also be honouring us with their presence.

The presenters are the actress Laufey Brá Jónsdóttir and her cousin and choirboy, Veigar Hrafn Sigþórsson.

Admission to the concert is free, but the choir gratefully accepts voluntary donations.

Everyone welcome, space permitting.
