Booking for the Reykjanes Highway
At a council meeting this morning, a resolution concerning the Reykjanesbraut was passed. In the resolution, the council emphasises the importance of implementing improvements to the road without delay and urges the transport authorities to begin preparations for all works on the road immediately.
At a meeting of the Hafnarfjörður Town Council this morning, the following motion regarding the Reykjanesbraut was approved:
„In light of frequent and serious accidents on the Reykjanesbraut in Hafnarfjörður, the Hafnarfjörður town council stresses the importance of implementing improvements to the road without delay. The Town Council is deeply concerned about road safety on the road and urges the transport authorities to immediately begin preparations for all works on the road that have been included in the transport plan for many years without funding. It is imperative to complete the works and ensure the road safety of motorists on that section of the road which runs through Hafnarfjörður, where traffic volume has increased enormously in recent years and continues to grow.“.
