The Bright Days in Hafnarfjörður are ahead, packed with a diverse range of events organised by the town's institutions, sports clubs, voluntary organisations, businesses and individuals.
A special emphasis is placed on the participation of children and young people, as the First of May is part of the celebrations. Various music events feature prominently in this year's Bjartra Dagar programme, with the HEIMA music festival leading the way, and on Friday evening, museums, shops and artists' studios will be open late. Musicians, sports clubs and various voluntary organisations are also hosting a wide range of events, and the town's cultural institutions are offering an entertaining programme.
The festival begins with the third-year pupils singing in the summer on Thorsplan on the last day of winter, the City of Hafnarfjörður's Artist in Residence is announced, and the Culture and Tourism Committee awards grants for events and cultural activities.
