Bright Days 2021 – ideas wanted

News

Ideas are sought for the programme of the Bright Days, which will be held from 21st to 25th April.

Ideas are sought for the programme of Bright Days, which will be held from 21st to 25th April in connection with the first day of summer, as in previous years. This time, a special emphasis will be placed on youth culture, and children and young people are encouraged to take an active part.

Bjartir dagar is a cultural festival that reflects all the diverse cultural activities taking place in Hafnarfjörður, organised by institutions, voluntary associations, businesses and individuals. During Bjartir dagar, numerous people take part in creating events all over the town. It can be something that is already established or something completely new, something for children or something for adults, but in any case, something interesting that encourages residents to participate actively and enjoy quality time together, in line with the public health regulations and venue capacity limits that will be in place.

Microgrants

To support pioneering projects, a portion of the Bright Days funding, up to one million, will be allocated to various projects taking place during the Bright Days. Institutions, non-governmental organisations, businesses and individuals can apply for funding for projects taking place from 21-25 April, up to a maximum of 100,000 kr. Applications for funding should be sent to the project manager of Bright Days at menning@hafnarfjordur.is by 29 March and the allocation will be completed by 1 April. The allocation will take into account Regulations of the Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður on grants for cultural activities.

Would you like to register an event for participation?

Hafnarfjörður is responsible for the overall planning and coordination of events, publishes the programme and promotes the festival. Now is the time to get your thinking caps on, come up with ideas for the programme and send the information to menning@hafnarfjordur.is. The deadline for submitting items for the programme is 12 April.
