Bright days ahead

Ideas are sought for the programme of Bjartra Dagar, a cultural festival which will be held from 18th to 22nd April, in connection with the first day of summer, as in previous years. Bright Days is a participation festival and is based on institutions, voluntary organisations, businesses and individuals taking part in creating events throughout the town that are connected to the festival, or taking part in the programmes organised by others.
Would you like to register an event to take part? It could be something that's already established or something completely new, something on a grand scale or a bit more modest, something for children or something for adults, but in any case, something interesting that encourages local residents to get actively involved.
To support pioneering projects, a portion of the Bright Days funding, up to one million, will be allocated to various projects taking place during the Bright Days. Institutions, non-governmental organisations, businesses and individuals can apply for funding for projects taking place from 18th-22nd April, up to a maximum of 100,000 kr. Applications for funding should be sent to the project manager of Bright Days at andriom@hafnarfjordur.is by 9 March and the allocation will be completed by 16 March. The allocation will take into account Regulations of the Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður on grants for cultural activities.
Hafnarfjörður is responsible for the overall planning and coordination of events, and for publishing the programme and promoting the festival. Now is the time to get your thinking caps on, come up with ideas for the programme and send the information to the undersigned.
The deadline for submitting items for the programme is 6th April.
