Bright days in Hafnarfjörður

News

The Bjartir dagar cultural festival is taking place in Hafnarfjörður from 20th to 24th April. The programme is full of interesting events, exhibitions and great entertainment. There is something for every member of the family.

The Bjartir dagar cultural festival will be opened on Wednesday, 20th April. The festival has been held since 2003. On this occasion, the grants from the Cultural and Tourism Committee will be presented at a ceremony in Hafnarborg at 5 p.m.

The Bright Days run for three days or until Sunday, 24th April. The festival is a participatory event, relying on various institutions, voluntary organisations, businesses and individuals to host a wide range of events. This year, a special emphasis is placed on children's culture and the participation of children and young people, as the First of May, which is organised by the Hraunbúar Scout Group, is part of the celebrations.

At home in Hafnarfjörður

Various musical events, spearheaded by the Heima festival of the Cultural and Arts Society of Hafnarfjörður, feature prominently in this year's Bjartir dagar programme. The HEIMA festival is held on the last day of winter.  On Friday evening, shops and artists' studios will also be open late. It is ideal for residents of Hafnarfjörður, their friends and relatives, and other locals to walk into town and stroll between as many venues as possible, experiencing the variety and enjoying the moment.

The HEIMA opening ceremony will take place in the Fjords from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, 20th April.
