Playgrounds at Hlíðarberg and Hamravellir open from 18th July – 29th July

This summer, playgrounds/play areas will be operated at the Hlíðarberg nursery school at Hlíðarberg 1 and the Hamravellir nursery school at Hamravellir 1. The playgrounds will be open from 9 am–12 pm and 1 pm–4 pm every weekday (closed at lunchtime) from 18 July – 29 July. The playgrounds are for children aged 2–6 (born 2016-2020).

Two types of cards are available:

• 5-visit card – kr. 1,261.

• 10-visit card – £2,311.00.

The cards can be bought atVölu – summer leisure:

• Select the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður under “Select municipality”.

• Enter a playground or park in the course title. You can buy 5 or 10-visit cards for each location. Select the relevant location and complete your payment.

General information for parents

The play area is intended for outdoor play only and cannot serve as a substitute for a nursery. It is therefore recommended that young children are not left there for more than 1.5 hours at a time. There are no facilities for changing children, so they must be able to use the toilet themselves. Children must also be dressed appropriately for the weather. It is advisable for children to bring a water bottle and a light snack.
