Campsite at Víðistaðatún open to Grindvíkingar
Grindvíkingar who already have caravans and motorhomes and are looking for a permanent pitch with access to toilets and kitchen facilities are now welcome at the campsite free of charge.
The City of Hafnarfjörður, in collaboration with the Hraunbúar Scout Association, worked hard over the weekend to bring the Hafnarfjörður campsite at Víðistaðatún out of its winter hibernation and open it for the people of Grindavík. Grindavík residents with caravans and motorhomes who require a permanent pitch with access to toilet and kitchen facilities are now welcome to use the campsite free of charge.
Manual login – not PARKA
As of today, Monday, 13th November, residents of Grindavík can contact Brynjar Örn Svavarsson, Operations Manager of the Hraunbær Scout Centre at Hjallabraut 51, on the telephone: 895 0906. Given that the campsite is normally closed from 15 September to 15 May, registrations will not be handled through Parka; instead, entry to the site will be managed manually. There are currently 9 pitches with electricity available, and whether more pitches are opened will depend on demand.
Grindavík residents – our thoughts are with you!
