Playground at Álfasteinn this summer
This summer, a play area (playground) will be open at the nursery school Álfasteinn, Háholt 17, where children can enjoy outdoor play and fun together in a safe environment. This will take place from 20th–24th July and 27th–30th July. The play area is for children aged 3–5 (born 2021–2023), and registration is via Vala.
Outdoor games and fun together

Opening hours
- 20–24 July and 27–30 July
- Morning session: 9:00–11:30
- Afternoon: 13:00–15:30
Please note in particular
- On Friday 24th July, we are only open until midday.
- We are closed on Friday, 31st July.
For whom?
The play area is intended for children aged 3–5 (born 2021–2023).
Registration
Registration takes place in Vala, where you can purchase a 5 or 10-visit pass. One visit is for one session, in the morning or afternoon (maximum 2.5 hours). Parents are kindly asked to complete the following questionnaire and tick their intended attendance. here.
General information for parents
- Dress the children for the weather – all activities take place outdoors.
- The playground is intended for outdoor play and is not a substitute for a nursery.
- It is recommended that the youngest children do not stay for more than about 1.5 hours at a time.
- The children need to be able to use the toilet by themselves.
- It's a good idea to send a water bottle and some light refreshments.
