The parents of a nursery school boy who shortened his time at the nursery from 8.5 hours to 7.5 hours a day saw their bill fall by almost 15,500 krónur in the first month. If they manage to keep the reduction in the child's day, the savings will amount to 170,000 krónur on an annual basis.
The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður changed the nursery day from September. The structured part of the day was then made more compact, running from 9 am to 3 pm, with free time at other times. Fees for shorter attendance hours were also significantly reduced. However, parents and guardians pay the same price as before for a full nursery day.
