Career presentation at Flensborg

A careers and education fair is currently being held at Flensborgarskólinn in Hafnarfjörður, and yesterday we were invited to present our organisation, the jobs we do, and the education and skills required to carry them out. 

Numerous students attended a special presentation and visited the promotional stand of the City of Hafnarfjörður, where they found out about, among other things, summer jobs that will be advertised in the coming days and are overseen by Ragna Rut Magnúsdóttir. The school has been decorated from top to bottom in the style of Disney films, and the students' faces were beaming with joy as the annual ball approaches. Arni Stefán Guðjónsson, a primary school teacher, presented jobs in the primary school, where he teaches social studies and life skills to older pupils at Öldutúnsskóli. Hrund Guðmundsdóttir, a nursery school headteacher, and Ásgerður Kristjánsdóttir, an occupational therapist, presented the diverse jobs in a nursery school, as they both work at the Álfasteinn nursery school. Þórdís Rúriksdóttir, an occupational therapist, presented the work of occupational therapists who work with disabled people in various settings within the community. Þórdís works at Vinaskjóli, a leisure facility for disabled young people, and in vocational training for people with disabilities who have graduated from a vocational programme called Geitingarnir. Andri Ómarsson, a project manager, presented his work in general administration at the town hall, where his responsibilities include organising cultural events and various development and improvement projects related to human resources. Olof Lara Agustsdottir, a social worker, presented her work with the family service, providing advice and support to families and individuals.
