The Minister of Justice has appointed Sigríður Kristinsdóttir to the position of County Governor for the Capital Region, effective from 1 January 2021.  Sigríður has worked as the legal counsel for the City of Hafnarfjörður since 2015 and as Director of the Administration Department since 2016, in addition to serving as deputy mayor. Increasing resources for people with dementia

Primary school operations will resume as normal.

A central decision has been made for the primary schools in Hafnarfjörður that primary school operations will resume in their usual format. Full teaching according to the timetable will begin for most year groups on Thursday, 7 January, or by Monday, 11 January at the latest for individual schools.
