The Children's Book Exchange Market
The children's book swap market will be held in Firði on Saturday from 13:00 to 15:00. An opportunity and a platform for primary school-aged children to get new books by selling their older ones.
Does your child have any „old“ and well-read books that they'd be happy to swap for „new“ ones?
Is there a stack of children's books upstairs or in a storeroom that could find a new lease of life in the hands of others?
A playground for the children
The children's book swap market will be held at the Fjörður Shopping Centre on Saturday from 1 pm to 3 pm. The aim of the market is to create an opportunity and a platform for primary school-aged children to get new books by selling older books they own and buying others in exchange or swapping. No one has to swap books unless they want to. The only thing required is parental consent for the sale.
One price, meet at 12:45
Please note that all books are priced at a single price (200 kr.), and it might be a good idea to bring some change with you to make sales easier. Meet at Fjörður at 12:45 for those wishing to sell books, but the market starts at 1 p.m. for those who want to browse and buy books at very good prices.
We look forward to seeing you!! 😀

The Children's Book and Film Festival in Hafnarfjörður
The event is part of the Children's Book and Film Festival. This new cultural festival, which runs for one week, is being held for the first time and the week's events reflect a focus on books and films, and creative and fun projects related to both. The festival aims to further encourage children's interest in reading and literacy in the broadest sense, and will support the literacy projects in the town's nurseries and primary schools that have been running for the past few terms. The festival is held in close collaboration between the City of Hafnarfjörður and the Hafnarfjörður Public Library, its primary and nursery schools, Hafnarborg Museum, the Folk Museum, the City Cinema, the Fjörður Shopping Centre, and other partners.
An overview of the festival's events can be found. here or on Facebook page of the festival,
