Ásta Eyjólfsdóttir, the committee's chairwoman, attended a Christmas party at Ásland School on Friday, 20th December, and accepted the donation from the head teacher, Leifur S. Garðarsson.

This year, 239,125 krónur were collected, which of course went to the committee unaltered. Over thirteen years, the school community at Ásland has therefore supported the Mother's Pension Committee with a total of 3,124,532 krónur. This thoughtfulness of the pupils, parents and staff of Áslandskóli towards those less fortunate is linked to one of the school's four cornerstones, service to the community. More schools in Hafnarfjörður have followed the school's example and now support the Mother's Pension Fund instead of holding tuck boxes.
Go, school community of Hafnarfjörður!
