Christmas tree care

From 11th to 13th January, staff from the Hafnarfjörður Service Centre will be collecting Christmas trees in the town.  Residents who wish to take advantage of this service are kindly asked to place their Christmas trees outside their property boundaries no later than these dates. Additionally, take
recycling centres against Christmas trees. 

The other side of the fireworks – cleaning up and disposal

A lot of rubbish is generated over the New Year period when tonnes of fireworks are launched into the air.  As with so much else, many hands make light work. We encourage residents of Hafnarfjörður to lead by example, clean up after themselves and dispose of the rubbish at their nearest recycling centre. If as many people as possible take the time in the new year to beautify their local area and lend a hand, we can get the town into good shape quickly and surely once the New Year has passed.
