Collective agreement signed and strike called off
A collective bargaining agreement was signed between the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities and the municipal employees' unions within BSRB just before midnight tonight at the Conciliation Board.mediator. The strike by the unions against the Federation of Icelandic Municipalities has therefore been called off. The agreement covers around 7,000 employees of local authorities across the country and is valid until 31 March 2023.

The council's operations will therefore remain unchanged and there will be no reduction in services due to the strike.
