Security enhanced and the game extended
Kids see opportunities and possibilities in all sorts of hills, and the health resort town of Hafnarfjörður has installed lighting at two popular hills in the town. Lights have been on at the slope by Víðistaðakirkja and Víðistaðatún for some time, and just before Christmas, lighting was installed on the slope behind the Suðurbæjarlaug. This way, the children can start sledging earlier in the day and stop later. Interested parties light the torches themselves, and they then burn for 15-60 minutes. This not only extends the time children can play there during the winter, but also enhances the area's safety.
