A visit to Álfaberg

Haraldur L. Haraldsson, the Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, spent the start of his working day with children and staff at the Álfaberg nursery school at Breiðvangur 32 in Hafnarfjörður.  There, a cheerful and smartly dressed group of children welcomed „the boss“, as they called him; some of the boys in shirts and ties under their outdoor clothes, and girls dressed in dresses.  Haraldur was given a tour of all the nursery's departments by the head teacher, Lilja Kolbrún Steinþórsdóttir, and had the opportunity to meet the staff and children from the departments.  In Hafnarfjörður, the day is celebrated within each nursery school, and each individual nursery school is free to decide how the celebrations are carried out.
